By day our students train with inspiring and talented faculty and tutors to become elite performers, prepared for the performing arts industry. But with such a diverse set of experiences and activities at our doorstep, there are endless advantages to living in such a central location and training at Urdang’s urban campus.

Generally our students do not live in high-priced Islington, but in other more affordable surrounding areas. The Academy’s central location makes it incredibly accessible, with London’s extensive transportation network making it quick and easy to reach Urdang by bus, underground or train.

Not only are we a top supplier for West End casting directors, the West End is in our backyard! With Urdang only a short tube ride, 30-minute walk or a handful of bus stops from the West End, students are never far from the action. Sadler’s Wells is also just down the road making it easy to be inspired by the numerous shows on offer.

Transport

Urdang, through City, University of London, participates in Transport for London’s Student Discount Scheme. This provides travel discounts on TFL and National Rail Services within the Greater London area. To apply go to the TFL website (see 18+ Student).

Please note that online applications for the scheme close on the 31st of July and open on the 1st of September. You will not be able to apply until the scheme re-opens on 1st September and after you have enrolled on the course.

Accommodation

There is a huge variety of student halls and hostels available all over London. We survey current students about their accommodation. Students are advised to always ensure they visit any accommodation they intend to live in until they have signed a contract BEFORE they hand over any deposit money.
