Applications for 2024 entry to the BA (Hons) in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre are still open to both home and international candidates!
Applying to Urdang is different to other undergraduate courses so please read and follow these steps carefully. They explain the application and audition process as well as how UCAS fits in. There is no fee to audition at Urdang for any student.
Owing to huge demand we are now full for in-person auditions for 2024 entry.
All new applicants can still be considered, but you will have to complete a video audition before 10th May. Please follow instructions below and don’t forget to confirm online your submission date, otherwise we will not be able to process your result. You are welcome to submit your video to us early for a faster result. We will aim to get this to you within 14 days.
If you have already confirmed your place at an audition, we can still accommodate you and look forward to meeting you! If you have applied and not confirmed your place, we will have contacted you and we will try and fit you in to your chosen date where possible. If you would rather submit a video let us know.

From late September you can start your application. If you are using a computer or laptop click the New Registration Star. If you are using a smartphone click the drop down menu top right and select New Registration.
You will be emailed an activation link, so do check your spam and junk folders for this. You can then go straight to part 3 of the process below.

Your application for entry in September 2024 should arrive at UCAS between September 2023 and late January 2024.
Applications that arrive after the UCAS deadline will be considered only at City’s discretion.
Once you have made your UCAS application and you have completed your audition, offer-holders will also receive an official offer letter from City, University of London with the academic conditions of your offer via email and your UCAS record will be updated.
Once registered you will be able to complete the online application form with your personal details and upload the requested headshot. This does not have to be a professional photograph.

Once you have submitted your application you will be emailed the following instructions:
Please ensure you are recording in a safe, well-lit environment.
Record the following in this order.
Tell us why you are applying to Urdang.
Record 2 full songs of your choice (any style or genre, but they should be contrasting for example; up-tempo and ballad).
1 monologue from a stage-play of your choice (1-2 minutes, any style or genre).
Upload to a shared (not public) YouTube account OR via WeTransfer.
Email the link to: urdang.admissions@city.ac.uk by your submission date. If you wish to send it earlier, you can do so.
We will aim to get a result to you within 14 days.
You will also need to have made an application via UCAS for any potential offer to processed. All offers are conditional on high-school academic and English language qualifications.

Confirm you will submit your video by logging into the Urdang site. We cannot process your application without this.
Email the link to: urdang.admissions@city.ac.uk by your submission date. If you wish to send it earlier, you can do so.
Urdang will confirm by email within 14 days whether your audition was successful or unsuccessful. There will be no recalls for 2024. Unfortunately, we are unable to give feedback.
You may also be notified that you are on a waiting list. Names will start to be considered from this list, if spaces are available, each June.
You must log in to the Urdang website to provisionally accept or decline your place within 14 days of receiving your offer OR tell us you need more time to consider.
This is in order for us to manage the limited spaces we have on each course. You will also be asked to complete a short medical questionnaire.
You must accept or decline your place on UCAS or select us as your insurance place. Please note you will not be able to do so until all your other results have been announced or you have withdrawn them.
Once you have accepted your place on UCAS the university will email you details of how to apply for accommodation.
Conditional offers will become unconditional once the required grades are achieved.
UK and ROI passport holders who can prove 3 years residency in those countries can apply for an annual tuition fee loan to cover all fees from March 2024. Mean-tested maintenance loans are available to UK applicants.
Auditions run from early November until April on most Wednesdays.
Once you have made an application you will be offered the next available date and at least one alternative date where possible.
If you have already applied please attend your audition as planned.
Open Days are run through City, University of London and are a great opportunity to hear from our staff, chat to students and explore our campus.
